Timothy Wei, MD, PhD |

Graduating from the Jiangxi College of Chinese Medicine in 1982, Dr. Wei went on to study at the Institute of Acupuncture, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences in Beijing, China, where he graduated in 1985. He practiced in China for several years before coming to the United States, where he achieved his Masters and ultimately PhD at the The Ohio State University in 1996.  He then completed Neurology Residency at the University of Chicago in 2000. He practiced for several years in private practice in Michigan, was an active Clinical Professor at Michigan State University Medical School, and also was Director of the Comprehensive Care Center, Spectrum Health where he managed complex headache and pain patients. He ultimately moved with his wife and daughters to the East Bay, where he founded East Bay Neurology.

Dr. Chirag H. Patel is a board certified Neurologist who specializes in headache and concussion medicine. He grew up in Santa Maria, California, before going to the University of California, Los Angeles, for undergraduate education where he majored in Neuroscience. Afterwards, he attended the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine for his medical degree, and subsequently did his Neurology training at the University of Southern California. He also did his subspecialty fellowship training in Headache Neurology at the University of Southern California. He is excited to be in the East Bay with his wife and daughter. He is passionate about headache medicine and hopes to establish East Bay Neurology as a premier West Coast headache center.

Jason Massa, DO |

 

 

Movement Disorders, General Neurology

 

Dr. Jason Massa is a board certified Neurologist specializing in Movement Disorders, with particular interest in the comprehensive treatment of patients with Parkinson’s Disease. Dr. Massa grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he attended Carnegie Mellon University for his undergraduate degree in Psychology. The pursuit of a medical career brought him to Northern California, where he attended Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He completed his residency training at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles and Fellowship training in Movement Disorders at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.  Dr. Massa’s fellowship training focused on the diagnosis and management of Parkinson’s Disease and Dystonia, including the use of deep brain stimulation and botulinum toxin.  Additionally, he engaged in research into the relationship between genetics and environmental factors in the development of Parkinson’s Disease.

Tanya Jain Gupta, MD, MS | Board Certified in Neurology

 

General Neurology

 

Dr. Tanya Jain Gupta is a neurologist who recently joined East Bay Neurology in 2021. She grew up in Saratoga, California. She earned a B.S in Physiological Sciences and B.A. in Dance from University of California, Los Angeles, and afterwards completed a Master of Science degree in Biokinesiology at University of Southern California. Afterwards, she attended medical school at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, and completed her neurology residency training at USC. In addition to her training as a neurologist, she has additional training and certifications in exercise medicine, nutrition, integrative medicine, and is a national board certified health and wellness coach. She believes strongly in taking a multifactorial approach to promote the well being of her patients, and is thrilled to return home to the Bay Area to serve her community.

Dr. Belma Sadikovic is a Vascular Fellowship trained neurologist who has been native to Southern and more recently Northern California for the past 27 years. Her initial education was completed with honors at UC Berkeley in Molecular and Cell Biology. She then worked in neurological research for three years prior to pursuing Medical School education at UC Davis School of Medicine. Next step in her career was neurology residency in Long Island, New York at North Shore - LIJ where part of her training was completed jointly at Albert Einstein Montefiore Campus in Bronx. Upon completing residency, Dr. Sadikovic worked for Kaiser Permanente in Vacaville for 2 years and then relocated to San Diego for completion of Vascular Neurology Fellowship at UC San Diego. After finishing fellowship, Dr. Sadikovic worked in tele-neurology stroke serving patients and hospital systems throughout the United States before returning to Kaiser Permanente for another few years. She specializes in acute and post stroke care. She is very excited to join East Bay Neurology and provide personal and compassionate neurologic care to the community. In free time she likes to travel with her family, visit new places, cook, and currently learn how to make wooden furniture with her teenage son.

Erin Green-Krogmann, PhD, ABPP-CN | Board Certified in Clinical Neuropsychology

 

Neuropsychology

 

Dr. Erin Green-Krogmann completed her bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and went on to earn her doctorate from the San Diego State University (SDSU) / University of California San Diego (UCSD) Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology.  During her pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the VA Palo Alto and Stanford University School of Medicine she completed specialized training in neurorehabilitation and neuropsychological consultation. In addition to her clinical work, she has 16 peer-reviewed scientific publications focused on relationships among aging, risk factors for cerebrovascular disease (e.g., obesity, metabolic syndrome) and brain function using neuroimaging and cognitive assessment methods. As of 2021, she is one of only 8 board certified neuropsychologists in the East Bay Area. Dr. Green-Krogmann is excited to join the team at East Bay Neurology to provide neuropsychological assessment services.

NP Maridez Jenkins

Maridez Jenkins, NP, MS | Licensed Nurse Practitioner

NP Maridez Jenkins achieved a B.S. in Psychology-Biology and B.A. in Communications at University of California, Davis and completed a Master of Science in Nursing at Samuel Merritt University. With a foundational training in family practice, Maridez has worked in various specialties and clinical settings, allowing her to have a comprehensive knowledge base. Her experience in family practice/internal medicine, gastroenterology, endocrinology, anesthesia/pain management, and neurology has fostered an eclectic practice background that values holistic, evidence-based, individualized, and compassionate care for patients with complex conditions and chronic pain..

NP Marah Moya

Marah Moya, NP, MSN | Licensed Nurse Practitioner

 

General Neurology

Marah Moya was born and raised in the Philippines and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Saint Paul University Philippines. She worked as an Emergency/ Trauma Nurse at University of California, Irvine and Kaiser Permanente for a few years before becoming a Nurse Practitioner.  She completed a Master of Science in Nursing at United States University, San Diego. With foundational training in family practice, Marah has worked for MedEvals of California servicing the US Veterans. She especially enjoys building good relationships and working with her patients to help them as they establish their healthcare goals and needs. When Marah isn’t at work, she loves spending time with her family, enjoying outdoorsy activities and caddying for her children.

Hongmei Gao | Licensed Acupuncturist

Dr. Hongmei Gao graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Acupuncture in 1992.  She worked as a medical doctor in China for more than 6 years after graduation, specializing in neurologic rehabilitation and pain management. Fueled by her passion for acupuncture, she obtained her acupuncture license from the California Acupuncture Board in 2008. Since then, she has been dedicated to serving patients with acupuncture and Chinese herbal treatments for various neurologic disorders and chronic pain. Additionally, Dr. Gao has been actively contributing to the California Acupuncture Board and is deeply committed to popularizing medical and health knowledge, and advocating self-care among individuals in her community.  In her leisure time, Dr. Gao enjoys spending quality of time with her family and friends. She finds solace in activities such as hiking, jagging, relaxing by the lakesides, and gardening.  Please call 925-938-5252 to schedule your treatments.
